Vicky's Email Update, March 2009

Dear Friends,

Trust all is well with each of you. February has come and gone, so here we are in March! Hang in there everybody...springtime is just around the corner!!!

We praise God for the very rewarding ministry trip that Fred and the India team had in February. I'm sure they are all still trying to adjust to being back in the States, so keep them in prayer. God continues to bless the ministry there in Manipur, India where they visited and ministered with the Awungshang family. Pray for Fred as he speaks here locally for a class at the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement on Monday night, March 9, at Olathe Bible Church, and also on Tuesday night in St. Joseph, Missouri. This is a wonderful course on world missions.

Thank you for your continued prayers as I minister in the "behind the scenes" administrative role at the H.I.M. Center. There are many needs and work to be done there in our headquarters site, which sometimes becomes overwhelming. Pray that God will continue to guide me and give me wisdom and peace each day with my priorities and work schedule.

We now have 2 weekly prayer groups meeting every Wednesday at our H.I.M. Center. One meets from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m., and another group meets from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. If you're in the Kansas City area and would like to attend one of the prayer groups, feel free to join us. Or if you cannot come, let us know of any praises/prayer requests that you may have, and we'll lift you up in prayer.

During this very difficult and stressful economical time our country is in, it is important to have a small group to be a part of...to help keep each other before the Lord. Sometimes the future looks very bleak in our world, but it is so encouraging to know that GOD is still in control...and nothing happens without His approval. May we all remember our hope is always in Jesus Christ...and nothing else!

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

In His service,

Dear Friends,

I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends, and now want to wish you a blessed new year! It's hard to believe another year has passed along...but with many blessings and memories for us to remember. "He has caused His wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate." Psalm 111:4

Christmas was quiet for me, but always very nice to have some "quiet moments" during the holidays. I always appreciate taking time off from "working" to just enjoy the holidays and also take time to contemplate and plan for the new year...both personally and in ministry. Appreciate prayers for guidance and discipline in my personal goals for the new year.

Here are some specific prayer requests coming up:

● Pray for Fred and a team that will be going to India during February.

● Pray for my good friend in Baltimore, Becky Kuhn, who is having a very serious surgery on January 13th. (This is a 9 - 12 hour surgery to remove and treat with hot chemo a rare type of cancer in her abdomen.) Also, pray for her family, as Becky's father, Wally Erdman, passed away this past week after a long illness. He and his wife, Dorothy, have been special partners with our ministry for many years.

● Pray for complete healing after cateract surgery for my sister-in-law, Theresa.

Thank you for your continued prayers and friendship in 2009! Keep me posted on how I can pray for you.

Vicky's E-mail Update, Thanksgiving 2008

Posted on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 02:50AM by Registered Commenter[Your Name Here] | CommentsPost a Comment

During this special time of year known as Thanksgiving, this holiday is usually "skipped" over...because right after Halloween, we start seeing Christmas decorations...sometimes before Halloween! Anyway, I wanted to take this time to express my gratitude or "thanks giving" to those of you who have supported me and/or prayed for me during these last 20 years. Yes, believe it or not, but I moved out here in November 1988 to serve the Lord with Fred and Barbara Kornis! Wow! It's hard for me to believe that I've been here this long! God's faithfulness goes on and on! "Thank you, Lord, for this opportunity."

Speaking of Fred, pray for him and the team that are leaving for Nicaragua on this Friday for ministry there with the local pastors and youth groups. We are praising God for the way He provided some nice baseball equipment through a local school district, who donated the equipment for the outreach ministry down there. "Lord, thank you for this team; protect them and use them for your glory."

We're also praising the Lord...and actually, quite AMAZED...at how God brought about 15 of our mailing volunteers on this past Monday morning to help us get our huge, end of the year mailing out...by NOON that day!!! A BIG THANK YOU TO EACH ONE OF YOU WHO HELPED IN SOME WAY!!! (The old saying "many hands make light work"...really is true!) "Lord, thank you for each one, and bless them, as they have blessed us!"

As you celebrate Thanksgiving with your family and friends, remember to give thanks for our country. God has blessed us for a long time, with many freedoms and resources that many other countries do not have. As we all know, we are living in critical times....but our HOPE is only found in HIM. "Jesus is the way, the truth and the life....and HE never changes!" "Lord, thank you for the freedom we have in Christ; help us to let your light shine in us so that others may know you."

Giving thanks with a grateful heart,

Vicky's E-mail Update, August / September 2008

A lot has been happening since July. I had an ear infection in both ears, then my hard drive went out on my home computer...lost personal photos, etc...but thankfully, my ears are better and my hard drive was replaced (I only had it 5 months, so it was covered in the warranty...PTL!)...but still had to pay the doctor's bill...no "warranty" on the ears!

It seems that all over our country, we have various types of weather that can result in terrible damage to homes, properties and lives. For those of you on the east coast, we lift you up in prayer for God's protection during this hurricane season. If you're in that area, let us know how you're doing.

The fall is a time of year when I always tend to evaluate my past year, start thinking of new short and long-term goals...personal and ministry. Appreciate prayers for guidance in my personal goals, as well as my ministry goals...here at the HIM Center. Our HIM Center is the "hub" for our many HIM staff and international partners around the world. Pray for the faithful "laborers" and provisions needed to help keep our HIM Center foundation strong. This is vital! I strongly believe that without a solid and strong team in a missions headquarters, a mission agency will not be effective in serving others of the mission that are out on the field. Fred and I would appreciate your prayers in the days ahead as we seek God's guidance in evaluating the present needs in our headquarters.

I also want to take this time to say a special "thank you" to our office volunteers, who help us out on a regular basis as they are needed...each has a specific job they do, which really helps out a lot. Andy Angelino, who is now on a "leave of absence", has been a tremendous help to us as our facility/properties manager...and also as my daily office assistant when needed. Words cannot express how much he will be missed around the facility at the present time. THANK YOU, ANDY!

Thank you for standing behind my ministry...I literally would not be able to do what I am doing without your prayers and support!  You are appreciated!

Serving Him...by His grace,

Dear friends,

I trust you had a nice Fourth of July.  As we celebrate each year, it reminds me of all the freedoms we have here in the United States and how grateful I am to have the privilege of living here.  Actually, I wonder how long we will have these freedoms available to us.  Time will tell...but it is good to know that the freedom we have in Christ will never be taken away from us.  Once we have trusted Him as our Lord and Savior, nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:38).

As the Lord leads you to pray, here are some praises/prayer requests:

PRAISE: Thank you for praying for the audit.  It seemed to go smoothly, which means our bookkeeping must have been well maintained.  PTL!

PRAISE: Fred has been ministering at a youth camp this week in Polo, Missouri, and last night after he spoke, about 20 teens came forward to seek the Lord...many were in tears.  Pray for these teens to continue on in the Lord and grow closer to Him.

PRAISE: Roger Staley has come "on board" with H.I.M. as a "missionary-evangelist" in our local area.  He and his wife, Anita, have been long-time friends and volunteers with us here in the Kansas City area, so we are excited to have them represent our mission!

PRAISE: For those of you who prayed for Marilyn (my friend Dennis' sister), she was scheduled to leave the ICU today at the hospital in MI and go to a room (she had been in ICU for about 2 weeks after her brain surgery).  The doctors say she is getting along very well, for which we praise God!  Thank you for praying for Marilyn.

PRAISE: I'm looking forward to the overnight visit coming up soon, of my friend Bonnie and her husband Ed, as they travel out to the Midwest from Baltimore.  Pray for safety as they travel.

Thank you for your friendship and partnership in my ministry, and especially your prayers!

Sincerely,

Vicky Rogers
